I just came across . Music does indeed fill the soul and cross language barriers .

       https://youtu.be/QagzdvzzHBQ

Just a thought but I was thinking why not a virtual piano performance by PTG members from around the world ?

There is enough talent to really pull us all together with a message to the World we will be back and that we stand United & Strong.

The song or songs should be simple and moving maybe with some pictures of the brave Doctors, Nurses, First Responders , Police, Fire, EMT,
National Guard, Volunteers , Active Duty Military- All Services

Since many  piano techs play other instruments they could be faded in and out

Some song suggestions : Hero , Amazing Grace, You Raise Me Up, Wind Beneath My Wings, He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother

I have a friend who actually does this. There is software to help with the arrangement, but individually the most basic & common method is everyone records individually to a click track that includes either all the parts on MIDI or some kind of rhythmic & pitch cues to keep everyone together. It's quite a time suck for whoever does the organizing. It ain't gonna be me. ;-)  I Jim wants to take on this hurculean task, I'll play flute. ;-)  Tim & I are already making videos for other people (students, etc.) AND FINALLY getting more tracks recorded for our CD, so I'm busy (as usual) but could fit this in. ;-)

Come on PTG. Time right now is something we all have plenty of. Right now I have one flute player. We need to work out the logistics and line up the resources.

If we can do technicals and zoom meetings we surely could do this . As Maggie states we need to pin down the hows . I will try contacting the crew that put the youtube together. Collaboration goes a long way......

As I see it, trying to coordinate video and audio without a lot of expensive equipment is going to be a challenge at best. Let's see if we can just do audio first. I'm no musician, but I do have a recording setup, as I'm sure a lot of folks do. We just need a song, recorded along with a click track, with the basic melody, etc. Then anyone can use that to record their contribution and send it to the producer to mix. It would have to be in the same format, ie., wav, mp3, whatever. I don't know all the details, whether bid depth, resolution, etc., would make any difference. What the producer would do is sync the tracks. If we had multi-tracking software (even Audacity, which is free), we could mix the files ourselves at home, to our own delight. Anybody could begin the process, even with a karaoke track which could later be dropped. Maybe start a new community on My.PTG to post the files.
Another thing to try is the Barbershop that we do at conventions. Have a master recording, and post the music so folks could play and record their part. Then send the recording in to be in a final mix. I think we even have a recording engineer in our ranks to put some nice touches on it.
    Just some ideas..

Josi Davis at Brooks, Ltd might have some of the information you need as some of her recordings have been done adding one track at a time. She might even help with an arrangement.
