Inspired by the recent post by Jim about key leads. The opportunity presented itself and I decided to make an impromptu video on how easy it is.

You should be wearing gloves when handling lead.
Mozart made an instrument out of lead crystal that everyone who played it went crazy.
Beethoven's favorite goblet and bowl were lead. There is a possibility that's why he went deaf

Years ago, I tried my hand making lead bullets. I purchased a melting pot and a mould. I melted wheel weights, using some flux that was recommended. I had a table set up in my laundry room, not much ventilation in there. Somehow (duh!) I inhaled some fumes. For several days, I went into LaLa land, dizzy and confused. I was sure I was finished, that I'd ruined my life. Luckily I came out of it, but it was a scare. Needless to say, I never tried melting lead again. I have a big tin full of lead. Anybody want some? Landfills around here won't take it, nor any recycling facilities that I know of. So, it has sat for years on a shelf taking up space.
