I can honestly say that that this is a good job. I have discussed working conditions with many other CAUTs over the years and heard their frustrations regarding funding for parts and tools, work space, cooperation from faculty, and pay. In comparison this job is a good one. There is a solid funding source for tools and supplies. The shop is large and well- equipped. The work environment is positive. I think the applicant will be pleasantly surprised at the benefits of working for the State of California. I would be continuing in this position if my private tuning and rebuilding business had not begun to compete too strongly for my time.
