    Hello List,

At our upcoming class in Tucson Rick Baldassin and I will be showing videos via a laptop, and I am wondering about what wattage rating will allow for high volume in a large space (imagine, too, that the AC is making some noise). In smaller settings such as chapter meetings I have been able to get by with my simple desktop powered speakers valued at only 5 watts RMS/10 watts peak.

I am not an expert in such matters, and this may be too simple a question, but I imagine some you out there can advise. Of course I understand that clarity of audio output is also part of the equation.

    Thanks for any input.

I have always used (nominal) 100-watt powered speakers (also called active speakers) for my classes. Fed directly from a laptop. The speakers were one of my better investments.

    Hi Nick,

Convention A/V guy extraordinaire Bruce Stevens does not have something suitable for you? He has been able to hook me up with something like this in the past.
