    Hello.

    Recently, the chair of the Texas State University School of Music received an email from a “widower” trying to find a home for his late wife’s Kawai piano. The moving company involved only takes digital payment. My business website does not include my affiliation with the university, so I received the same email (different names, of course) which is a scam.

    Thought I’d pass it along.

    Thank you all for the intriguing information in this forum too. If anyone makes it to central Texas, give me a shout.

    This a scam.  We have also received emails wanting to give away a Steinway grand.  Movers in OK want payment up front...that's where they get ya..  Run away.

    Three faculty members here at Washington State University received similar emails last week, except it was a widow trying to find a home for her late husbands Yamaha grand piano, which was in Tennessee...

    I've gotten a few for Yamaha grands and Steinway grands for free.  Even the Dean at the School of Music got one and asked me all excitedly to see it.

     

    I knew it was this new scam, but followed up.  I asked for more info... lol. Aha!.  I gave them the "what for" and have not heard back from them.  I also mentioned we're all in this crap and on to the scam.

     

    Perhaps they'll go somewhere else and sell pallets made from old coffee tables??!!.
