February first, the deadline for submitting names for board and executive committee candidates to the Nominating Committee is approaching. Any RPT may be nominated for these positions by any member or chapter. RPTs, including current elected leaders, may submit their own names for nomination.

Please consider your choices for future leadership and submit their names to the Nominating Committee. Please ask your nominees about their willingness to serve. As soon as possible, your candidate should send a consent to serve form and a concise statement of qualifications and purpose (200 words or less).

The consent to serve form can be found on <ptg.org> by clicking on PTG Members, then Forms and Documents, then Forms, then Board Consent to Serve Form.

Please send your nominations and supporting materials to Ed Sutton, Committee Chair, at ed440@me.com

Ed, I'm on the road so I can't double check, but I believe nominations are by chapter or self nominated. Not by a member except for themselves.

    Larry-

Your citation of Article V, Section E, 1. is correct, but 2. states "Qualifications and experience as stated in candidates' submissions shall be considered in making selections. The committee may seek nominees in addition to those presented to it in making its decisions."

Frankly, we have received embarrassingly few nominations, and I believe V.E.2. allows us to seek input on nominations, pending evaluation by the committee. The membership of the committee is public knowledge and we seek to nurture democratic participation in PTG. Should our parliamentarian in residence be requested to rule, and rule contrary to our request, we will have to toss out nominations by individuals, if we receive any.
