I know that the possibility of fulfilling this request is quite remote however I'm trying anyway. You never know.

I have an old Craftsman spray gun model #919.156340 that still works very well, which I only use to spray plates. The problem is that the plastic diaphragm which forms the seal at the cup is deteriorating (this is this second one from a rebuild kit 20 years ago). I don't know how much longer it can hold out till the thing is useless. Also, the strainer in the bottom of the cup has been gone for a long time.  So far my scouring of the internet has brought up nothing and of course Sears has not carried these parts for a long time, and we know their fate now anyway.

I know I COULD just buy a new gun, but I have a hard time parting with such a good tool for such a stupid reason.  So, if anyone out there has this same gun and no longer using it (obviously with internal parts in decent condition) and is willing to part with it (or just the parts I need) I would be interested.

I just sprayed a plate this morning and noticed how bad it's getting. Uh oh...i just realized that it's a Steinway plate and I didn't buy my paint through the official Parts department...Oh my!...I hope the legal department doesn't come calling...Oh My!...What am I to do? Oh My!

I love my piano. I know that it's old and falling apart but can you do something to keep it going?
NO. It's time to get a better piano.

Jon, I understand what you say, but I have sympathy for Peter in a way.  I use a grand tuning head/tip that was willed to me from an old tech, who received it from his father.  It's a 5 degree head with a 3/0 tip from the early 1900's.  I love the feel of that tool and will give it to my son when I'm done.  Because of the way it was processed, the star remains quite sharp even after a hundred years and tens-of- thousands pianos.  However, if it went bad, I'd have to buy another...but with deep regret, because I know that tool and love it.  Peter, there's a place for at least making an attempt!  Go for it.  In the end, Jon might be correct, though.
