To Our Friends and Valued Customers,

Since the official statement we were given last week about the Steinway purchase of the Louis Renner Company, we've received lots of questions about what impact this acquisition may have for our business, and our ability to continue serving our customers.

Here's a list of the top Questions and Answers we've had about the Steinway acquisition of the Louis Renner Company:

    1. Are technicians and rebuilders still going to be able to buy Genuine Renner products from Renner USA?
    a. Yes, the Renner factories will continue to supply Renner USA and their many other piano manufacturing customers as they have in the past.
    2. Will Renner products continue to be made exclusively in Germany?
    a. Yes, both Renner factories are going to continue operating exclusively in Germany, with the same employees and management teams.
    3. Is the current Renner CEO, Clemens von Arnim, leaving the company?
    a. No, Mr. von Arnim is a great grandson of one of the founders of the Louis Renner Company, and he will continue leading the company under the new Steinway ownership.
    4. Are Renner USA's prices going to increase dramatically now?
    a. No, Renner USA will continue to offer Genuine Renner quality products at very competitive pricing, as we have for over 30 years. The next pricing adjustment that was previously planned for later this year will be announced in advance in the next few months, and should be similar to the previous two pricing updates during the past 10 years, reflecting only moderate increases to align with changing costs and business conditions.

As mentioned in the announcement, Renner has been a key supplier to Steinway for more than a century, and we are optimistic that this acquisition will be beneficial for all involved. We appreciate the strong relationships we have with all of you, and we look forward to continuing to serve you and the community of piano technicians and rebuilders who rely on our products and services.

    Thank you!

Thank you very much, Jim. This is very helpful & good to know. It does seem like many of us are fairly "concerned" about really any changes involving Steinway right now. Especially considering their "behavior" in recent months. :o)

So if Steinway owns Renner and I buy parts for a Steinway action from Renner, will they now be considered genuine Steinway since I bought them from Steinway, aka Renner?

    Gary,

You can use any parts you want. They're not going to do anything to you.
