    This is several months old now but the official statement is below 



    Steinway & Sons is currently under contract to sell 5.25 acres of our 11 acre site in Astoria, NY to Wildflower Ltd. of New York City. This land is excess property that was not being used for the production of our pianos. Steinway has built the world's finest pianos on this site since the early 1870s and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Inquiries regarding the use of the land under contract after the sale closes should be directed to Adam Gordon at Wildflower Ltd.
