I used to have some of the metal bridge repair parts that screwed onto the bridge and had metal tangs bent up to replace the bridge pins. I thing that I threw out the ones that I had, thinking that I was never going to do that type of repair again. I now have a piano that they would be appropriate for, but have no parts and don't find them in any of the catalogs. If anyone has any they are wanting to part with, please contact me. Sorry I don't have a picture, but the long time techs on this list will know what I am talking about.

    Thank you.

I'm not familiar with the repair parts you mention, but have you considered an epoxy repair? I've done a number of them and they work quite well.

I have a quote out for an epoxy repair but the cost of the repair will be more then the value of the piano. I was hoping for a less expensive fix that would give them a few more years of playing.

I had those parts but discarded them years ago. If the rear row of pins have split the cap, simply relocate them in a bit. Be sure to consider side bearing when the new holes are drilled. The strings do not have to be removed, use a spacer against the neighboring string to force the string over to drill the hole, install the new pin and remove the spacer. You will need to lower the tension a bit to make this dislocation easier. You don't even need to rebevel or renotch. Unfortunately, this is not suitable for the front termination.

I looked in my parts drawers to verify that I no Longer had them. I pitched them along with the tuning pin metal sleeves.

Yes, I would not even think about putting those things on. I also relegated them to the trash bin decades ago.
