Nossaman advocated tuning on the attack. I have found when I constantly peck the note while I'm pushing or pulling the hammer, it is extremely easy to hear the pitch lock in place and remain stable. BUT I must remind myself that I should be a continuous piano pecker if I want these results; stable tunings with ease.
If you haven't added piano pecker to your arsenal of tuning techniques, become a piano pecker.....you might like it too.
