There is a final photo of the mid treble hammer, reattached to the rail between hammers that had not yet been filed.

The piano is a Steinway B, about 15 years old. I did a hammer at the bottom of the tenor section (F#2), one at the top of that section, and one in the middle of the treble sections.

In each case, the length of the grooves was 10 mm or a little more. The result shows that in each case the filing removed about 0.3 gm of felt from the hammer.
