    Greetings,

I am consulting with an art project involving the modification of piano keys. At the moment, we are looking to acquire a set of keys for a fairly common piano make and model (e. g., Steinway B, Yamaha C3 or C7, etc).

If you have such a set of keys (preferably new, but used will also be considered), please contact me, either on these lists or privately.

    Thanks,

    Alan

Not sure what the budget is, or if the project would involve keeping the keys permanently, but if you can't find anything else, you might consider contacting Dean Reyburn. I'm sure he could make you whatever kind of keyset you need.

    Benjamin,

Of course, there is that, which would be far and away the most expensive option.

    Best,

    Alan

At one point when Yamaha was dealing with an early version of their Ivorite  Key tops which needed to be replaced, they would send a new set of keys with the improved ivorite to the technician to install on the old key frame. I did at least one or two of those jobs but I no longer have the old keys.
Perhaps someone who worked for Yamaha back then- the 90s I think - might give you some leads.
    Good luck,
    Allan

Thanks for pointing that out out, Allan.

Anyone out there a bit of a pack rat (like me!) have a replaced keyboard they are ready to part with?

    Best,

    Alan

    Alan,

I have several keysets. I have a Yamaha C3, a Yamaha G2, and a Kawai KG2. The Yamaha C3 was in a truck accident suffering severe case damage, but the action is in perfect condition. Contact me at roger@gablepiano.com
