I am working with voicing Ronsen Weickert Felt hammers right now on a 1920's Steinway Model O. I am noticing that some of these Weickert hammers create, what I call, an unbalanced partial profile after striking the string. For example, on note #39, which is a B, what I am hearing is an emphasis in the lower partials of the note, which sound too pronounced to my ear, creating an unbalanced tone on that note. Some of the other notes around note #39 have a more even profile that makes these notes sound more balanced across their partial spectrum. These notes, while sounding a bit leaner in tone than note #39, have a more balance tone overall and sound better to my ear.

Here is my question. What are the voicing techniques I can use to balance out the partials profile of a Ronsen Weickert hammer? In this case it sounds like I need to dial back the lower partials of note #39 and increase the mid to high partials of the note in order to achieve a full, balanced tone on this note. Thanks!!
