Exhibit Tour During the Convention: "The Steinway Parlor Grand, 1859-1892" The Period Piano Collection in Redlands, CA, also known as The Period Piano Center, will host a tour of its new, special exhibit, "The Steinway Parlor Grand, 1859-1892" on the mornings of Saturday August 6 at 9:30 AM and 10 AM Sunday August 7. This new special exhibit includes each gestation of the Steinway parlor grand from the flat-strung to the modern "C", plus examples of the earliest "B" ancestor, the earliest "A" example, and many other pianos in our regular exhibit. Special loans for this exhibit as well as instruments owned by Period Piano Collection are included. The exhibit provides a significant window into the entire period of the development of the Steinway piano from its earliest to its most developed designs.
A $30 fee* covers the 2 1/2 hour tour and a catered sandwich lunch. Cars and vans will leave the convention hotel at 8 AM. Limited space available.
