Recommended Lodging


Bring your own tuning, regulating, and basic repair tools. All other materials, models, and supplies will be provided.

RPT Written Exam
The written exam tests basic knowledge of piano design, tuning theory, repair techniques and various other topics relevant to piano technology and any Associate is eligible to take it. A score of 80% or more is required to pass the 90-minute exam comprised of 100 multiple choice and true/false questions. You must pass this exam before taking the tuning or technical exams. Downloadable exam prep materials and RPT exam information are available in the Member Area of www.ptg.org under Certification Exams. Join the my.ptg.org discussion group Exam Prep to network with other Associates preparing to take the RPT exams.

8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. • Four rotating workshop sessions covering repairs, vertical and grand regulation, and tuning
5:30 - 7 p.m. • Dinner on your own
7 - 8:30 p.m. • Evening group session
8 a.m. - noon • Group session and your choice of workshop sessions or written exam
