The patient is the Zuckermann Flemish that I worked on 10 years ago.  It has the annoying antique pins that are more difficult for some of us to deal with--especially my customer.    I found my post from 10 years ago asking about shimming the antique pins, where Fred mentions converting one of these instruments to zither pins.   That would make my customer really, really happy.

So, is it safe to assume that this pinblock will be happy with zither pins?  Seems like Fred's experience was good--at least 10 years ago it was.

I don't have the pins yet, but what size drill would be good?  Is there a certain number of thousandths of an inch under the size of the pins I should use?

How deep should I drill?  If I had known this was coming up, I would have measured that hole on the last instrument that was here...

    Thanks,
    Barb
