I have found an old picture of my grandfather Antoni Bielat who was visiting his family in New York at 1963.
(the local Polish newspaper wrote an article about the visit).
His brother, sister and other family members moved to US before the first world war.
As you can see in the picture, my grandfather (the one in the middle) was holding the action of a grand piano.
When he returned, he told me a lot of stories and got me to start studying for piano construction and technique.
This picture was taken in a factory where the brother of my grandfather worked.
After the second world war, the brother of my grandfather unfortunately died. And In 1950 it was very difficult in Poland to access information, (thanks to communism) and we lost all contact with our family members who moved to the US.
I would really like to know the name of this piano parts factory, but I don’t have any clue where to begin.
Maybe somebody here has knowledge of the history of piano factories in the US or knows someone who does?
