I recall some discussions about what Baldwin did to some of the Hamilton uprights when they were going down the tubes. I have one that doesn't seem to be that bad after I glued on 20+ glue starved hammers.
The problem is, it doesn't repeat well. Is this a geometry, regulation issue?
I tell Rachel,, she is not picking her finger up off the key completely. That would seem the upweight runs out before the jack can reset.
I think I am going to replace the jack springs.
    What else??
Divot on the wippen heel cushion?

    Keith

Those Hamiltons are notorious for tight action centers. I would start by repinning the hammer flanges. If that doesn't do the trick, repin the wippen flanges.

A lot of the time those actions check at 1+ inch, if you can get it to check at 5/8" it might help. Also strengthen the jack spring.

I assume rather than corfam, you've got escaine butt and catcher "buckskin."
HIgh flange friction is common on Baldwin verticals. Baldwin's "cure" was treatment with an alcohol/water solution, to shrink the felt. Try that first. Repinning is the next step. Don't assume the wippen and jack flanges are AOK. Measure the friction, and repin as necessary.
    The springs are probably fine.
