    Hi all,
Another problem from last week: I came to a fairly new C6 (2017 or 2018) with a disklavier installed. The sostenuto pedal had some noise which seemed to be coming from a bicycle-type cable actuator (a new collaboration with Shimano?).

Anyone have any experience dealing with these? It's hard to believe it would either need lubrication this soon after manufacture, or that lube might actually quiet it significantly.

    Thanks!

    Hello Scott,

This is a noisy design. I would go through and just make sure that there aren't any kinks in the line. Is this something that the client has complained about or something that you noticed as you were working on the piano?

How is that kluge actuated at the other end ?  Asking for a friend.  Is there a traditional dowel/pedal rod/trap work setup  ?
