    I just got registered.  Because it is my first time attending (after being a member for 14 years), I got $300 knocked off my registration fee, and I am very thankful for that!  Looks like I'll be able to rent a car, drive to the  convention, do a little sightseeing, eat decently and stay in a nice hotel for under $2000.

    I can understand your concern about flying, but it's only 1000 miles round trip. When I was tuning full time, I would drive that many miles in just 2 weeks.

    Take Amtrak from Spartanburg SC. $73 each way. But, renting a car is a business expense and can reduce your income.
