Anyone know of a jack supplier that has something that will fit a 70's Herz two manual? I've been making wire springs to keep this one going, and it works, but it might be nice to have a more elegant solution since were approaching time to requill and damp anyway.

Or you could convert to Zuckermann - get one of their conversion kits, which includes upper and lower guides. Not that big a job, and should be capable of retrofit to a Herz. As always with that sort of job, repinning the nut is likely.

The Instrument Workshop sells these plastic jacks. They were modestly priced a few years ago. I don't know the current price.
There was a tendency for the plectrum to slip out of the tongue mortise. A tiny drop of glue on the backs of the tongues fixed this.
