Was tuning a Hobart Cable console built in the 1960's yesterday and was testing the sustain pedal and found that one of the damper rod hinges was broken allowing the sustain rod to lift out of its location.   I had noticed that Schaff sells Upright damper rod hinges and I wonder if that would work for this HC.  I could not find where they had anything like this for consoles.  Has anyone had experience with something like this?

    Thank you

Unless they have changed, the upright damper hangers are not the right size and do not fit. I bought a few from Schaff several years ago and had to make drastic modifications, but I don't remember what I had to do.

Thanks Wim.   Did you cut them in half?

I have an console action from another piano.  I am going to remove the hinge bracket from that.  It should work.

    No, they were too small.
