I am sorry to report that Malcolm Rose died last week, on December 29, 2022. As many will know, he was a pioneer in making music wire according to historic methods, and has been a major supplier of wire of many sorts, as well as being a restorer of historic instruments.

As a customer of Rose, I got the following email. Seems the wire will continue to be available.
    Dear Friends and Customers,

It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you of the death of Malcolm Rose, on 29th December 2022. He was a highly important figure in the early music world, exceptionally skilled, and a great source of knowledge. He will be incredibly missed.

I'm pleased to be able to confirm to you that the wire-making will continue as before. As many of you know, I have been working with my father and making Rose wire for the past two years, and I am proud to be stepping up to continue the family business.

Trading will need to pause temporarily until we have finalised the necessary logistics. During this time we appreciate your ongoing patience and I will communicate again soon with a clearer timeline on when trading will recommence.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

    Leonie Richter Rose
