I recently tuned a Schafer & Sons grand (a local re-braded piano, usually a Young Chang or Samick).  Upon inspection the piano was neglected, very flat and had a few stiff treble hammers but in reasonably good shape.  But there was a missing tenor nose bolt screw.  On close inspection the nose bolt below was about 3/4 inch from the plate.  The second, treble nose bolt was properly set.
I was able to back the nose bolt up to the plate and tuned it with no incident.  We will see how this stands up after a year.

The black tar-like substance cleaned up nicely except for stains on the pin bushings.
I didn't care to taste it to see what it was.

I don't recall if SS-51 was a model number for YC or Samick. I didn't notice any issues.
