Period Piano Collection has in its collection an old but super-clean electronic device built by Francis Mehaffey which is meant to teach beat rate recognition. However, there is only page 8 of the user manual, and I'd love to find a complete manual, if anyone might have it! Or if you know the machine, feel free to pipe up about its operations. It has a digital numerical display, a vernier knob selecting thirds chromatically, and a vernier knob selecting octaves (2,3,4). The on/off switch is also a volume control; it has a mic input and phone jack outputs for "phones." It includes a 7.5v DC charger, and seems to have a battery ( I haven't opened it to see what battery), as it retains some juice when unplugged.
Thanks for any info or manual scans you might be able to share!
