We have an opportunity to buy a used Wyman grand piano and wonder if anyone has experience on their overall quality?

Thanks, Jon. That's pretty much what we suspected.

Thanks, James. We looked on The Piano Book web site first thing and found nothing on Wyman.

I service one at an assisted living facility. It's actually tunable for a 140cm piano. Not a horrible scale. Perhaps comparable to a J&C Fischer from the '50's. Overall build quality fair to poor. If you want to re-sell it I'd advise against it.

The ones I saw at a convention I'd compare to the old Vose & Sons with the tuning pins protruding below the pin block. Not a good presentation to display shoddy work
at such an event. If that was their 'best', I'd hate to see their 'worst'.  Run!

I worked for a dealer who sold them for several years. Fairly low quality build and often saw over glued front key bushings that clicked as well as other problems.
