Midrange Unisons from a Yamaha C6

02-12-2014 16:46

From an aural tuning done on 2/12/2014. An example of tuning based on the impact tone rather than the decaying tone. The lever technique is one that seeks to minimize pitch change from pin flex. In other words, it maintains a slight downward pressure on the lever when turning the tuning pin. Middle strings were tuned, then a strip mute inserted, beginning from G#2, then proceeding up to just before the first treble section. Then back down by whole steps. Then a final unison pass for that section moving by half steps. Recorded with an iPhone and Voice Memo app.
