I need to replace the missing Sostenuto components on a 1920's Baldwin, and the WN&G Sostenuto kit appears to be a very well crafted option (rather than continuing to work to source vintage parts).

Have any of you had first hand experience installing this kit?
Any specific recommendations/tips you can offer?

    thank you

    Greetings,
Yes, I have installed these, and they seem to be a solid, final, fix.  One thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to put one on a Steinway M, as there is no place to attach the necessary anchor on the belly rail, (plate in the way).

Before ordering, I would ascertain that you have enough room around the sostenuto trap work to mount the brackets.  Also, the use of an anti-fouling fluid like "Tap-magic" is essential when tapping, and also a safety margin, when working with the aluminum rail.
    Regards,

    Thank you Ed.
I'll take a photo and measurements around the Sostenuto trap work to be sure I have the necessary mounting space.

A great reminder on the tapping fluid. I'm fortunate to have a small machine shop at home, and our family has a full machine shop just down the road. A9 aluminum tapping/cutting fluid is a smell I know well.
