Online Community Rules & Etiquette Guidelines

By joining any community on my.ptg.org you agree that you have read and will follow these rules. These rules will be updated as needed. We reserve the right to remove any message from anyone that violates these rules, as well as the right to suspend or terminate membership in this community for such violations. We also reserve the right to allow, limit, edit, moderate, delete, move, and curate Communities and Community content as needed to ensure the best possible experience for community members and the public. The Rules

1) Discuss pianos and the industry
Remember what the PTG is for. Stay on topic.

2) Be Professional
No personal attacks, sexism, racism, or harassment. No libel, defamation, or deliberate misinformation. No religion or politics.

3) No Commercial Messages
Forums are not a place to advertise. Use discretion when discussing a product or service you have a stake in. Posts determined to cross this line, explicitly or implicitly, may be removed.

4) Do not abuse the Report function
Only report when there is a clear violation of the rules. Identify which rule is being violated when reporting.

5) Post to the correct Community
Posts made in the incorrect Community may be moved or removed.

6) No spam
Do not repost threads or comments that have been removed. Cross-post to other Communities only when relevant.

We disclaim all warranties with regard to information posted on this site, whether posted by The Piano Technicians Guild or any third party; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall The Piano Technicians Guild be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data, or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted on this site.

Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, obscene, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that they own the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, the posting party grants The Piano Technicians Guild and users of this site the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material.

All members should be familiar with PTG's Antitrust Guidelines and abide by them when posting information. Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or implicitly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.

The Piano Technicians Guild does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of The Piano Technicians Guild, we will take all appropriate action.

The Piano Technicians Guild reserves the right to terminate access by any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
