    No one has mentioned here about Steve Schmidt dying.  He was one of the original founders of the Piano People in Champaign, IL.  He was a superb technician and rebuilder.  I just wanted to make it known, is all.

    I am so sorry to hear this. I so very much enjoyed every time I was with Steve. I very fondly recall his wonderful sense of kind satire. I believe he was the founder of: "The PTG Police".  I last spoke to him on the phone a couple of years ago and he didn't mention any serious illness, but knowing Steve he would not broadcast his problems. Very responsible man, very funny man, very skilled technician, very generous person. I am honored to say I knew him.

    I have worked as a subcontractor for The Piano People my entire career. I did not post here since Steve has not been a PTG member for many years. I did send a notice out to the 2 midwestern regions, assuming he had most contact with technicians in this area. 
    Cancer. 
    He is greatly missed.
