Steinway console keytops

Question:
Did Steinway use the "Waterfall" type plastic keytops on post war consoles.  Each white key has a brad at the rear, and two under the rolled front.  The key buttons are also nailed. They look original. Are they?

Hey Carlos,
As Martin said, the tacks are for a piano to be sent to the tropics. I've seen waterfalls on two Steinway consoles.
Hope this helps,
Dale

Several older English piano makers exporting their pianos to tropical climates would similarly install brads in the ivory key front, head and tail to prevent the ivory from lifting in humid climates.
