The Indonesian models bear the brand name Johannes Seiler or Eduard Seiler; the latter is the "premium" line. I've serviced several of these for a local dealer; they are decent, but they do have certain problems that seem to recur (noisy jack stop felt, inconsistent regulation and voicing from one piano to the the next, hammer flanges freezing up with heavy play). My understanding is that models with the Seiler badge are still German-made, but this dealer isn't stocking those.

To my knowledge there is no current relationship between Seiler and Young Chang.
Seiler was purchased by Samick several years ago. Some Seiler pianos are (I think) still being manufactured in Germany but most of them are being built in Indonesia. Based on what I've seen at NAMM they are decent pianos. Time will tell how they hold up.

Can anyone comment on the current status of Seiler pianos, when their association with YC began, what effect that had on manufacturing, quality etc. Thanks.
