Can anyone comment on the current status of Seiler pianos, when their association with YC began, what effect that had on manufacturing, quality etc.  Thanks.

Seiler has been owned by Samick since about 2008.
Samick was associated with Young Chang for less than a year.

So did anything change in their manufacturing after 2008?

I see quite a few pianos of different brand names made by Samick. They're mostly all made in Indonesia, and regardless of the name on the plate and the fallboard, they are all Samick pianos. You can tell if it is pre or post Samick by the serial number. Samick uses a serial number on all the pianos it makes, regardless of name, that starts with four or five letters followed by four digits.

To my knowledge there is no current relationship between Seiler and Young Chang.

Seiler was purchased by Samick several years ago. Some Seiler pianos are (I think) still being manufactured in Germany but most of them are being built in Indonesia. Based on what I've seen at NAMM they are decent pianos. Time will tell how they hold up.

The Indonesian models bear the brand name Johannes Seiler or Eduard Seiler; the latter is the "premium" line.  I've serviced several of these for a local dealer; they are decent, but they do have certain problems that seem to recur (noisy jack stop felt, inconsistent regulation and voicing from one piano to the the next, hammer flanges freezing up with heavy play).  My understanding is that models with the Seiler badge are still German-made, but this dealer isn't stocking those.
