The churches have an interest in electronic keyboards because they
have had electronic organs for the past 40 years.

    rm
ps I have never seen one without a piano.

    Jeff, Dave & List:

We can certainly beat the Digital vs. Acoustic question to death! Most
of us have a vested interest in the use of the Acoustic instrument since
we make our living working on them.

When I am ask the question of which to buy, I immediately ask the
questioner "What do you want the instrument to do for you?" In much of
today's contemporary music, including Christian Praise & Worship, the
Acoustic Piano sound does not invoke the correct mood. Yamaha's DX7
changed that in 1983, and a whole generation now expects that sound.

Do you need to sequence parts to play back while performing live?
Acoustic piano can't play string sounds at the same time your are
playing the paino part. Perhaps you play in a different venue each
night. It's not always feasable to move an acoustic piano and tune it
each time you go to another venue, especailly if you're playing solo for
    $100 a night.

I suggest that each persons needs will dictate the type of instrument
(s)he should buy. I also submit that we, as ethical business people,
should be aware of the difference between our personal opinions and
agendas and the broad scope of music instrument usage.

    Just food for thought,
