    EVERYONE is writing;

<<Bill, - this or that about historical temperaments. blah blah blah>>

There is more than one "Bill" on this list, and I for one don't want any part
of the ET - HT - "you are an idiot" discussions.

If you are going to quote someone, or address them in a post, WHY NOT USE
their last name in the post? Most everyone just cuts and pastes the name
    stuff anyway.

I suggest "Mr. _______" as an alternative. It is less confusing. And, of
course, I have always hated errors in "Billing".

    Thank you

There's just not room for both of us here, I guess, Bill.

    Dear List,

I have to agree. Bill Ballard also frequents the list, and other
Bills, too. "Bill" (as a name) isn't as helpfully unique as "Newton".

Using last names in subject lines would also make things easier for
those of us who feel that our best, and even most humane, response
to Mr. Bremmer's constant invective is "delete on sight." I wouldn't
want to miss replies to something that Bill Simon had posted.

    Sincerely,

    Susan

I also know whose posts to ignore and delete too. Ones like this that have
never once that I can remember had a piece of worthy, useful information in
them. It's back to the old "pecking order" again!

    Dear List:
If all would make consistent use of the delete key, we'd save a lot of
bandwidth, for it seems that is the only way this issue is to be
    resolved.
At the risk of being flamed - my one and only comment. And yes, I do
    take my own advice.
