Good morning everyone, I live in Italy, here we have not a large tech information culture, I studied piano at conservatory, but if you want to learn something about the inside of your piano you have do to by yourself...
I live in a relatively small city and we don't have many technicians nor for working nor for learning.
I read many books, I learned a lot from this forum and many other's experiences.
I love making, I love learning.
Now, I locked down myself in home, for covid, I have time for working on my piano.
I have an old beauty, 1913 bluthner, semi concert grand, in jubilee version harp.
I have measured all that I can, cataloged and taken photos of everything I removed from piano.
I removed strings and plate from piano, scraped off varnish from soundboard, the old varnish was terrible.
Soundboard seems fine, there are a lot of screws that avoid splitting things from each others.
    Only some hairline cracks.

I have hairline cracks in bridges also.
What do you suggest to do with soundboard and bridges ?
    thank you
    Davide

    Dear Davide,
These old Blüthner pianos are real beauty's. And in my humble opinion it is not wise to try to make this grand working again, for you as an amateur. I have seen it happen that good instruments were ruined by non professionals.
Please consult an experienced piano technician in your Bologna. There are many good technicians in Emilia Romagna and the rest of Italy.

Take a look at the website of the Italian association AIARP http://www.aiarp.it/ there many good technicians in Italy, I know some of them

    for example:

Sergio Brunello https://www.aiarp.org/directory-associati/listing/brunello-sergio/ he is in the board of the AIARP
Andrea Di Biasi https://www.aiarp.org/directory-associati/listing/de-biasi-andrea/ He gave a very good lecture about soundboards at the Europiano 2015 Congress in Moscow

https://www.idrapianoforti.com/. Idra is also in Bologna
