Good morning everyone, I live in Italy, here we have not a large tech information culture, I studied piano at conservatory, but if you want to learn something about the inside of your piano you have do to by yourself...
I live in a relatively small city and we don't have many technicians nor for working nor for learning.
I read many books, I learned a lot from this forum and many other's experiences.
I love making, I love learning.
Now, I locked down myself in home, for covid, I have time for working on my piano.
I have an old beauty, 1913 bluthner, semi concert grand, in jubilee version harp.
I have measured all that I can, cataloged and taken photos of everything I removed from piano.
I removed strings and plate from piano, scraped off varnish from soundboard, the old varnish was terrible.
Soundboard seems fine, there are a lot of screws that avoid splitting things from each others.
Only some hairline cracks.
I have hairline cracks in bridges also.
What do you suggest to do with soundboard and bridges ?
thank you
Davide
