There are many comments on Pianotech about this model which I believe had poor scaling, difficult to tune and stay in tune etc . I believe I tuned one and it sounded no better after the tuning. It may be better to keep shopping no matter how good the price seems. Keep in mind it is a 19 year old piano probably needing hammers, action regulation etc

I have a church in town that has been offered for purchase a Yamaha GA-1 5' grand, built in 2002, and they wanted me to evaluate the instrument. I understand there was a recall on these pianos and that they were not manufactured but for 3 or 4 years, when a new model of the same piano was manufactured.
Does anyone know what were the issues with the piano and what the recall was all about? Thanks so much!
