Does anyone manufacture 1.5 / 0 tuning pins? This piano has .276" pins (1/0) which are still pretty tight. I feel 2/0 will be too tight in restringing. Just wondering if they even exist anywhere.

When dealing with torque less tuning pins on a barely out of warranty Kawai (which they covered anyway), David Reed sent me a dozen tuning pins that were roughly 1.5/0 in diameter. So, there's a Japanese source for pins of that diameter - I don't know if Kawai makes their own, try asking David or Don. Maybe Jürgen has a source too?

Would going from .276 to .281 be too tight? I doubt it. You could ream the hole to .276 if needed.
Mic the set and place the thinner ones in the high treble and the thicker ones in the bass. If they are 2 ⅜" in length,
I'd replace the single string pins with 2 ½".
The wire is thicker and to maintain the coil height above the surface, there would be less pin in the hole. Those pins usually get loose first.

Check with Yamaha. I believe they have a 7.1 mm tuning pin, which works out to .2795 inches.  I believe they also have a 7.15 mm pin, which comes out to .2815 inches.

Metric/25.4 = decimal
I have always found most American pins to vary in diameter + - .002 and occasionally as much as + - .003
And yes,  for a restringing, I sort into 3 piles using larger in the bass, middle in the middle, and smaller in the treble.
