Do you know if it will stick to a wood/tile/vinyl plank floor ? Some time ago I asked Dampp-Chaser if they could come up with a two part power cord that could break away when this happened. I believe it would have to go through all sorts of red tape and testing to get certified by Underwriters Lab. Still it makes sense so that a damaged cord could be replaced. Even though splicing the wires together and taping them is a cheap fix I never do it for fear the splice breaks apart and then live wires get exposed. Some sort or warning sign might help but it would likely get lost but it is worth a try. A letter or email to staff using the pianos may help.

Subject: A solution for loose power cords
I've been doing a rash of replacements of upright Damppchasers recently because people kick the power cords and damage the plugs.
Generally, in churches and classrooms the pianos are set up facing the room and away from the wall. I've been using units with 10' cords so they are at least long enough to sit on the floor. Recently I found this product that is a tough nylon fabric strip bordered with velcro (hook side) it holds tightly to the "Berber" style weave commonly found in churches and schools and it's inexpensive, comes in a few colors. It's positionable so it doesn't hinder movement of the instrument. They are also less likely to roll the piano away without unplugging it because they'll hear the velcro pulling off the carpet.
Looks like a good solution. Does not work with the pile-type carpets often used in homes.
