Hammer heads mass are determined by strings mass, string tension , properties of the soundboard., etc. By other words - hammer weight derives from the scale, not from action ratio.
< Playing as a truck> in most cases is result of excessive ratio, not an excessive hammer weight ( considering friction is taken care). Correction the ratio even with heavy hammers will result in adding ( or not at all) not more than one lead to the key in bass /tenor area, which will affect inertial property of the mechanism insignificantly, or not at all!!! I believe it is time to demand from the industry specify Ratio as a regulations parameter, next to key dip, let off, Demper and checking timing, blow, etc.
Painful to see how community goes on wrong pass again .
