Hi, Richard,
You might check with HO. Years ago, when I was exploring insurance for PTG exams at different sites, I asked the head of the insurance company PTG was using at the time. (It was at a conference he attended with us.) His literal words were, “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it’s a duck.” So it was already covered by PTG’s insurance. A PTG-authorized exam, given by PTG members, to PTG members, was a “duck”.
If it’s a PTG event or exams or meeting, given by PTG or its chapters, or our regional exam center, and attended by PTG members, then it was covered under their policy. For years, I had the company fill out a form saying we were covered, but no one at that time ever asked for it, so I stopped doing that.
I should probably revisit that whole question, since we’re still giving exams and having meetings, but other things have changed.
Kathy

Subject: Chapter Insurance
I'm exploring insurance options for chapters that meet at universities, and other venues where insurance may be required. What type of insurance is needed? What coverage is most often required? What is the cost? What companies carry such insurance? I'm more interested in a yearly policy rather than for any one specific event.
