I wonder who else tested positive for Covid at convention?  I know of 2 people other than me, but I am hoping that no one else got it.  I remember that last year a bunch of people got it,  Luckily I was able to get Paxlovid through a program offered by Pfizer, but most insurances don't cover it now and cash price is $1800 from the pharmacy.  Keep well, folks.

I tested positive for CoVid on Tuesday. I was not infected during the convention but through someone else over the weekend. I was prescribed Paxlovid by my doctor and picked up at no charge.

However, I am on Medicare and it covers cost until the end of 2024

How are you feeling Kenneth?  Basically over it?  Today I felt the worst, so I am hoping that the next few days will get better.  Had to move all my appointments, so the second week of August is going to be busy.

Between about 4% and 8% of people who take Paxlovid get what is called "Rebound Covid" that starts 2 - 8 days after completing Paxlovid treatment. About 4% who do not take Paxlovid get a "Rebound" case. Rebound usually settles down in 2 - 4 days. It is generally believed that a 2nd course of Paxlovid is not necessary though Dr. Fauci (81) took 2 courses a year or so ago.

I had a sore throat on Sunday, after the convention, and a mild cough by Monday.  On about Tuesday I tested positive for COVID and two days ago I was completely negative.

My symptoms were only mild cold symptoms and the only residual consequences is a persistent runny nose, so I am quite functional now. My wife and I masked and kept apart and she did not contract it (that we know).

Sorry you got it, Blaine!  It seems to affect people differently.  Mine has started with a sore throat, and I still have a minor one 3 days in, but I have had a lot of fever with it and night sweats to where I am soaked when I get up, but thankfully no coughing.

As regarding rebound, I had that the last time I took Paxlovid..I hope I don't get it again
