Yes, thank you. I wondered that myself. Can't tell from the outside, but I can easily imagine one of the 7 internal "connection thingies" could similarly be responsible.

Once upon a time I was an electronic technician. These symptoms are associated with a broken cable or cable connector. Examine the cable wire at the junction of the connectors at either end. Even the slightest sign of external damage can mean that the internal wires have broken and connect intermittently.

For those of you who regularly service disklaviers:
I recently have had what "appears" to be a problem with the key sensor cable connector causing the system to turn off. This is a brand new unit in a GB-1K.
I had to remove the action to deal with tight key bushings. Upon reassembly the disklavier would not power up. Fiddling with the KS connector "appeared" to fix it, however upon installing the fallboard all went south. Further manipulation of the cable seemed to fix it (and yes, the cable was stored up in its little hangers as I found it). Owner has now informed me that the problem is back.
Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Or have suggestions or questions?
