    Hello All.
A friend that owns a piano store out my way has asked me what I thought about the "Enschu" piano, an instrument I have never seen or even heard of.
Some sites claim it's a piano assembled in Japan from components made China, others sites state that is manufactured completely in Japan.
I'd be interested in hearing opinions from anyone with any hands-on experience with the Enschu product.
    Thanks!

Hi Mark, I haven't heard of Enschu but they have some interesting information on their website. Among other things, they state ""Certificates of origin", as pianos produced (assembled and fine-tuned) in Japan, can be issued for all pianos of the Enschu brand." So they don't attest as to the origin of the parts. Elsewhere they say that they use Röslau wire and German felt. They also have a rebuilding factory that rebuilds Yamahas and Kawais much like the Apollo company does in Japan, Apollo also has a rebuilding factory in Viet Nam. In short the parts of the pianos could have come from anywhere.

They also make the ACOUHYB-4 grand piano that has 4 wires to the unison, I assume non bass) note. The 4th wire is actually detuned a prescribed amount and activated by engaging the una corda pedal. Here's a video where you can hear the effect. Is sounds like it's off by about maybe 12 cents?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hepfXovzaJ0
    The ACOUHYB
concept is actually from a Spanish designer named Sergey Gogolev who is collaborating with Enschu. His site is here and it has specifics regard tuning. https://acouhyb.es

It's a big world out there.

Thanks Steve.  "Manfactured"  has morphed into kind of a vague term in recent years, I guess. I passed your email along to the dealer.
