I thought this would be a great historical Milwaukee made piano restoration project. I now have decided that it's time is up. Too many design and condition flaws. Someone spent a lot of time attempting to repair the soundboard probably 50-80 years ago. Beautiful book-matched mahogany veneer, on a mediocre instrument. Probably the second piano built by Waltham in 1907. This never was a player piano as was common with many/most Walthams.
Interesting that the action says 'every joint of the action is supplied with brass instead of wood flanges' yet, only the hammer butt flange is brass (Billings style horseshoe shape which all seem to be intact). All other flanges are typical wood. The action also has the extra pivot and lifter in the whippen, for better touch when soft pedal is depressed.
'BUILT LIKE A WATCH' a few blocks from where it stands now.
