And then there's this one:
"Free if you pick it up by October 10th."
Mid-20th-century small grand, "average brand," widower moving across the country to be closer to his kids,
Piano available for inspection, and the receiver is responsible for moving arrangements. Structures of the piano are sound, no indications of excessive wear.
Here's the deciding factor: The piano is being offered by real live human beings who are known to me.
What a treat to be involved in helping this family find a suitable new home for this instrument! The young couple on the receiving end are astonished.

My concern in all of this is the consistent statement that the husband passed away and left behind a 2014 Steinway. What exactly was done in production during that year that was so fatal to men? Should we forward all of these to a hungry Law firm to help with the Class Action Law suit? It just adds to Steinway's PR woes!

why even bother to read those messages and validate those scammers with a response?
it takes but a second to glance over the message and see the key words, followed by a "delete button" click.
Even at one second, i think it's a waste of my time or anybody's time.

You can use these replies, or you can make up your own. Let's all have alot of fun with this.
You're in luck. You've contacted the network of piano technicians heeding Trump' call to place a Steinway baby grand piano in every room of his Mar a Lago resort (https://www.maralagoclub.com/guest-suites). Call their number (561-832-2600). He does have an unimpeachable record with his resorts' vendors and contractors. You'll be proud to have contributed to this gold standard of excellence.
"You've reached just the right person. I have recently opened a piano store Piano Salon International, and sell 3-4 pianos a month. Currently, the offers to take possession of a departed spouse's piano are coming in so frequently these days, that I can choose only those offers who pay for the delivery of the piano. I am sorry for your loss, but I'll have to decline unless I'm assured that you're paying for the delivery, and there will be no further costs for me to pay. I look forward to it showing up at my doorstep."
(I do have a much more terse one: "Shame on you")

I got an email this evening that was titled Piano Give Away . The sender said her sister is giving away her late husbands 2014 Steinway baby grand. The email gives an email address to click on to arrange inspection and delivery. the sender was a Dalia Castillo. Of course I did not reply but am posting this as a heads up...
