Hamburg Steinway Model O (S/No. 411 70) year of manufacture?

    Both the Blue Book and Steinway serial number lookup say that this two-pedal Hamburg Model O was made in 1878. But the Model O was first introduced in 1900, according to Steinway. Any clues or help in finding out its year of manufacture would be much appreciated.
