Has anyone rebuilt one of these 6'9" grands from the late 80's or early 90's?  If so, what is your impression of the results?  Also, what did you find necessary to do to it?

I've done a few 6'ers from the 70's with great results. I installed WNG Perimeter Bolts and vertical hitch pins. Same block, 2/0 or 3/0 pins.  If I were to do another, I'd probably use XM wire and rescale.

We have a GS-30 6 foot in the university practice rooms.  I did the Fandrich last resort soundboard repair protocol, the Spurlock Bridge Repairs for Better Tone, installed GC Piano bass strings, and reworked the action with new knuckles, backchecks and Wieckert hammers from Pianotek.  Used Stanwood protocol to balance the action.  That was a few years back.  I just reshaped the hammers last week, and it has a nice combination of warmth and power.  I've been very happy with the ongoing results of that project.

This is helpful. Looks like I'll be doing one soon. Thanks for the input.
