Not too long ago I had to put new wheels/casters on a Yamaha G2. The existing wheels had been corroded by pet urine. The replacement wheels I got from Yamaha required doing some surgery on each leg to get the new casters to fit. The flanges had tappered sides but would not seat properly and the stems where longer. Bottom line-get the wheels from Yamaha and be prepared to do some woodworking. Perhaps Kawai and Yamaha have the same source

Terrence,
The stem on the Kawai pianos are longer than Yamaha. You would bottom out before the flange area reaches the screw shelf. You would be required to drill a deeper hole into the leg. Also, the Yamaha stems are wider than Kawai and as a result you would need to "fill" around the Kawai stem for a snug fit.

P.S. That information is from my experience about 15 years ago.

Does anyone know whether the OEM casters on a Kawai GE-2 grand would fit into the legs of a Yamaha G2?
