Shame on PTG for not including Kevin Hancock's outstanding series on refinishing in the Resources section.  Articles are in  2005/12, 2006/2, 2006/7, 2006/12, 2007/2,

2007/6.  Possible best traditional piano refinisher anywhere.  Time to support non-tuners in this organization.

As one who participated in the cataloguing of the Piano Technicians Journal archives a little while back, I am impressed that we have an embarrassment of riches at hand.  That one series of articles, however excellent, did not find its way into a freshly minted resource directory does not constitute shameful behavior on the part of anyone.  However, it is entirely appropriate to champion the contributions that we find helpful.  This is, in fact, something I do regularly on this and other lists.  And part of championing a contribution may well be recommending that it be added to the resource list on the website.  I have no reason to believe that the present configuration of that list is cast in stone.

    Parker,

The resource sections of PTG were compiled by volunteers, over the course of literally hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of volunteer time. Just because something was inadvertently overlooked doesn't mean there's a conspiracy. It means our wonderful volunteers also had lives to live outside of PTG.

Instead of trying to pick a fight where none exists, try volunteering to help solve the problems you find.

By the way, pick up the phone and call the Home Office to see how you can volunteer. It's much more personal that way.

Thanks for the recommendation. We will include the series on the PTG Education Site ASAP.

Please let us know if you find other ways to improve the resource! I'm sure there are countless article series that should be included as well. Fortunately, the Journal Index was built to allow people to search for articles by topic beyond the ones listed on the resource page.
